Fun Facts

Young and growing, the City of Langford was only officially incorporated on December 8, 1992. Not that the community is new by any means: European settlement dates back to 1851 when Captain Edward Langford decided this would be a great spot for a Hudson Bay Company farming community.

Goldstream Provincial Park had its very own gold rush in 1863! It was a particularly quick rush, with reports that it took only 7 months before prospectors moved on. You can still pan for gold today, but the chances of actually finding any gold have not improved with time.
